After 40, estrogen and other anabolic hormones start to decline.


To make up for this, workouts have to provide a strong stimulus.


Strength training and (true) high-intensity interval training (HIIT) can provide these stimuli - if done correctly.

Moderate-intensity exercise becomes ineffective.

This plan for women over 40 is designed to provide stimuli to:

TWICE / WEEK

  • are making a comeback to exercise after a break
  • only have time for 2 workouts/week

  • have been doing exercise 2-3x per week for at least the last 2 months
  • and have time for 3 slots/week

Allow at least one rest day (48h) between workouts.
